If you don’t think that the Bible is connected from the front cover to the back, read John 1.  In The Beginning starts HERE.

If you don’t think that Jesus cares about the little things, read about the Miracle at Cana in John 2.  Jesus Saves The Best For Now.

If you don’t think that Jesus loves the world and everyone in it, read John 3.  Jesus Came To Save The Lost.

If you don’t think that Jesus can free you from your sin, read about the Samaritan woman in John 4.  Jesus Meets With, AND RESTORES, The Wretched.

If you don’t think that Jesus wants to heal you, read about the healing at the pool in John 5.  Jesus Allows Us TO CHOOSE If We Want To Be Well.

If you think Jesus was just an ordinary guy, read John 6:32-35.  He Was Either God…..Or He Was COMPLETELY CRAZY.  Any historian who says He was a prophet or a magician or a rebel——did not read the eyewitness testimony or history books that are outside the Bible.  Jesus Was EXTRAOrdinary.

I encourage you today:  Weigh The Cost.  Jesus said that and I think it is great advice for all that we do.

But it is even better advice for ALL THAT YOU ARE.

John paints an incredible, undeniable, and truth seeking picture of the God who loved us too much to leave us here broken.  We can be well and restored.  We can be invited and received.  We can be living in the greatest moment of our existence.

But we can’t do it alone.

Take my challenge today:

Cry out for Jesus to come into the deep and dark places in your soul.  Don’t mess around worrying about where you don’t measure up and why you didn’t do this that or the other…..Instead:  Weigh The Cost.

You can take on Lucifer, your brokenness, and your ultimate death all by yourself….or you can request Him to come and seal up the holes in your sinking ship and give you something that will sail.

In Matthew 16:13-20, Jesus stood on a spot where they literally sacrificed babies (Caesarea Philippi…The Gates of Hell) and called out Satan, Sin, and Death.

What are you going to do without Him?

Jesus offered Peter an opportunity to walk away from Him in John 6 and to summarize Peter, he said:

Lord, where will I go?  You, and You alone, hold the keys to eternal life.

If a broken, backstabbing, coward like Peter can figure it out and be a hero of the faith after Jesus gets a hold of him…..then why can’t I?

In the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.
