This verse is worth memorizing:

Hebrews 12   1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

 

Today, let’s talk about:

“the author and perfecter of our faith,”

 

Why is this important?  

 

Because if you are like me, you are saying something to yourself along the lines of:  “When will I ever learn?”

 

The spirit of stupid comes upon me sometimes, and I get fully activated.

 

And I totally screw up.

 

 

Sometimes I am so disappointed in myself that I can not even look up to the One who has saved me.

 

But God …

 

The greatest two words in all of scripture.

 

But God …

 

 

But God knows and He does something about it.

 

Only God can do what God does.

And He does this:

Hebrews 10  14 because by one sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

 

This is a contradiction.

 

And yet it makes perfect sense.
