Our value in the partnership with Jesus is … unimportant.  As much as we would like to profess our value, our contribution, our resume—it simply means nothing on the accounting books.

And to realize this is humbling to the core.

But the reality is that we cut a deal with God … yet need God to help us keep our end of the bargain.

Growing up, I would read the Old Testament and even the stories of the disciples and scoff at their utter lack of contribution … or commitment.

But today, I am coming at it from the other side.

These people … they were so much better than I first perceived.  They are in fact, just like all of us.

As I listened to this song this morning driving into work, the words resonated with me.

I am weak … my flesh my fail … give me faith, to trust what You say … I need You, to soften my heart … I surrender …

Amen.  Amen.  And amen.

We are ruined without Him.

And thank God that He has the patience to endure our utter brokenness.

Psalm 139 23 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Praise You Jesus — You, and You alone, hold the keys to eternal life.

In The Name of the Father and the

Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.
