We can learn a lot from the people who went before us. 

In the most violent of times, Joshua wages an absolute war on an evil that makes today’s society look tame.  And in the face of death, many victories are won.

Without getting into those details in today’s message, I want to simply focus on what Joshua says in chapter 24:

Joshua 24 15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord .” 

In a life and death situation, Joshua set his priorities in a very important place, and invited others to do the very same.  Facing armies and giants and spiritual forces that had to be incredibly intimidating, Joshua aligned himself with the One who stood by him before Joshua even knew Him.

And for us, we must do the same.

Our God has chosen to accomplish His ends through those loyal to Him.

So as you go out, take Him with you.  He is worthy.  And He is the one who called you before you ever knew Him.
