As I sat and reflected and prayed this weekend, I couldn’t help but wonder:  “What should we do as followers of Jesus?

LIVE

REMAIN

GO

OVERCOME

…

REPEAT

LIVE

LIVE … as a child of God: 

John 1 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

We are God’s children.  And as a child of God—we are free.  This is not to say that we are instantly sinless.  We are sinless because we are His sons and daughters.

REMAIN

REMAIN … in Him

John 15 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Connection to God is our only way.  It is the way we are to live and the only way to survive.

GO

GO … and make disciples of all nations

Matthew 18 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We are to GO.  Our God is calling us to GO and spread the gospel to the lost and to the broken.  For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life!  That’s news for everyone we see.

OVERCOME

OVERCOME … by the blood of the Lamb and testimony

Revelation 12 11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

As we encounter opposition, we should never forget this.  We are broken people who are sitting ducks for Hell.  But God has us!  His love is over us and His blood saves us!  And we are to testify to His goodness in all things.

In The Name of the Father and the 

Son and the Holy Spirit.  Amen.
